The Sony digital camcorder DCRTRV460 is a digital8 video
camera. Digital8 is a video
recording format that delivers 3 times the color of old
analog VHS camcorders, the result is vivid colors and crystal
clear video. You can compare the quality of Digital8 camcorders
to MiniDV.
- 2.5" color lcd display - see
exactly what the video will look like as you shoot
it
- mpeg movie mode - capture short digital video clips
in the mpeg format so you can easily send clips to
friends and family via email
- shoot still images in resolutions as large as 640
x 480
- battery life of 1.75 hrs, when the battery is fully
charged
- 1ccd - you can find other camcorders
with 3 ccd. The
DCRTRV460 only uses 1 ccd, so the colors will not be
as deep as other models such as the Sony
Handycam DCR-VX2100, or the Panasonic
Palmcorder PV-GS120
- image stabilizer - this feature removes most
of the camera shake that are so common in older camcorders
- you can choose from a variety of effects to give
your video the look you want. Choose from, negative
art, sepia, monotone, solarize, pastel and mosaic.
Probably the best feature of Sony's Digital8 Handycam
camcorders,is that they capture digital video onto cheap
8mm and hi8 tapes. So the cost is much cheaper compared
to mini dv discs, used in dv camcorders. Price range
at about the $327.00 range.
