The Sony hdr-hc1 hdv 1080i is part of Sony's
handycam camcorder collection. This mini dv video camera
uses new technology, high definition video recording. With
hd camcorders such as the
hdr-hc1 hdv 1080i
you can playback the video you just captured on your widescreen
home theater system. But don't worry if you don't have a
wide screen television because you can adjust the settings
to either high definition or standard definition video.
- hd codec engine - the real-time hd codec engine encodes
and compresses digital video into the mpeg 2 format. Why
is this necessary? This features is necessary so that you
can record high definition video on
the same cassettes as MiniDV recording.

you can transfer your video footage to your computer
for editing.
