Canon has traditionally been slow in the digital camcorder
market, but with the Canon dc10 they finally made their mark!
Sony has been the leader in DVD camcorder but Canon has finally
caught up! The dc10 not only looks great but it is also very
compact and weighs in at 1 pound! With the ability to take
clear digital video and snap still images this video camera
is sure to be a winner with consumers.
If you have a hdtv then you will love the wide screen format
available from the dc10. Choose from the following video
recording formats, 4:3 and 16:9 (widescreen) modes. In order
to watch the dvd footage on your home theater you do need
to finalize the DVD-R and DVD-RW discs before playing it,
which takes about 5 minutes. You can also watch you still
images on your big screen tv if you want to see the family
picnic on your television screen.
Older camcorder would be almost usefully in dark and night
time conditions, but technology has caught up and this Canon
dvd camcorder uses a backlight
button on the LCD monitor, that lets illuminate your video
to give you better video in all types of conditions. Digital
pictures can be taken in resolutions as high as, 1632 x 1224.
If you want to send video clips to friends via email then
you need to check out the mpeg mode. You send short video
clips easily, transfer the mpeg video to your pc and then
just 1 click on the send button and you video is emailed
to friends and family across the globe. You also get accessories
to help you get the most out of your dvd camera such as,
software, USB cable, a/v cable, lithium
propriety battery, ac power adapter and remote
control.
The Canon DC10 does a pretty good job but it does lack a
few things, mainly the vivid colors found in other dvd camcorders
such as the Sony
dcr dvd403. For the $528.00 is a reasonable price but
cheaper deals with better quality can be found.
- "The Canon DC10 dvd camcorder is a groundbreaking camcorder
that brings the ability to record high definition video
down to the level of consumers."
- " have had mine for over three weeks now and am very
impressed. The simple ability to capture true 1080i video
is amazing. I finally have home video I can play on my
HDTV and not cringe at the poor resolution."
