Below is list of reviews offered by numerous online
sites on the Optura 600 camcorder. My original article
on this Canon
Optura 600 camcorder can be found here. The reviews
below are listed to give you more information. I beleive
it is important to get information from many resources
before making a consumer decision.
Cnet reviews the Canon
Optura 600, and writes "Like the Optura
500 before it, the Canon Optura 600 hides a wealth of
features in a compact design. Fitting easily in a jacket
pocket, this MiniDV camcorder delivers excellent video
quality and surprisingly good still photos. Though it
doesn't compromise features for size, "
Camcorderinfo.com's David
Kender has
an excellent Optura
600 DV camcorder review, with tons of
useful information. David "The Optura 600 represents the
flagship of Canon's 1 chip MiniDV camcorders, the king
of the Optura line. Retailing at around $1100 (up approximately
$400 from the Optura 60), your money might be well-spent.
The 600's huge 1/2.8" CCD
promises excellent video performance, a category the Opturas
have traditionally faired well in. Matchbook bodies seem
to be all the rage, combining portability and deed. Many
matchbooks, however, present handling issues, and may annoy
those expecting a professional feel to match the large price
tag."
Designtechnica.com did some
reviewing on Canon's
Optura 600 and they write "The compact 1.1-pound Optura
600 has a vertical form factor that takes a bit of getting
used to. Unlike more horizontal models such as the Sony DCR-DVD203
you’re
really forced to shoot one-handed. It didn’t take too
long to get into the swing of things but we strongly urge
any prospective purchaser to handle this camcorder—or
any other--before the credit card goes on the counter."
