Hard drive camcorders from JVC - The world’s first
hard drive camcorder, introduced by JVC last summer, finished
2005 with awards and accolades from a wide range of media
and from the industry’s trade organization.
Since its introduction, the JVC Everio G Series camcorders
have earned awards from sources that include Popular Science,
Sound & Vision, Men’s Health, PC World and the
Consumer Electronics Association.
“We certainly feel that the Everio G Series is innovative,
but it’s gratifying to see that others agree,” said
Dave Owen, General Manager, Consumer Video Division, JVC
Company of America. “The hard drive concept offers
many advantages compared to tape or DVDs, and it’s
obvious that we’re changing the way people think about
video recording.”
In November 2005, the Everio G Series was chosen in the
photography category for a Popular Science Best of What’s
New award. Popular Science editors review thousands of products
and select just 100 technology innovations that, according
to the magazine, “represent a significant leap in their
categories.”
The product was also recognized by Sound & Vision, which
this month announced that the Everio GZ-MG30 won an Editors’ Choice
award. In reviewing the camcorder, the magazine noted that “this
camcorder gets thumbs up for its compact size, high-quality
video, and tapeless day-long capacity.”
In its December 2005 issue, Men’s Health ranked the
Everio GZ-MG70 #1 on its list of The 100 Best New Products
for Men, saying, “…it’s so clearly the
future of video cameras that our advice has to be, buy this
or nothing.”
Another magazine, PC World, named the Everio GZ-MG70 a winner
of its Innovations Award for 2006, announced early this month.
The Everio G Series was also awarded a CES Innovations 2006
Design and Engineering Award in the Digital Imaging category.
CES Innovations recognizes the most innovative consumer electronics
in 30 categories, and is administered by the Consumer Electronics
Association in conjunction with the annual International
Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the industry’s trade
show.
JVC’s Everio G Series camcorders, the world’s
first hard drive camcorders, eliminate the need to carry
tapes, discs or any media at all, yet can record up to seven
hours of DVD movie-quality video or more than 10 hours at
DVD camcorder-quality. Other advantages of hard drive video
recording include the ability to quickly locate desired material,
to effortlessly delete unwanted material and to easily rearrange
playback sequence. Current Everio G-Series models are the
GZ-MG20, GZ-MG30, GZ-MG40, GZ-MG50 and GZ-MG70.
